New House, M.D. Poll–Best episode to submit to the Emmy panel (if nominated)
2009 July 7
This may all be an academic discussion if House isn’t nominated for best drama next Thursday, but I’m running a little poll on Blogcritics. A little pre-nomination day speculation, as it were.
Barbara-
Ive been following your blog for some time now, and I haven’t commented yet, but I do enjoy them. They are riveting and make my week.
An unlikely episode that I think is phenomenal is ‘The Itch’
To me it is very Edgar Allan Poeish and resembles ‘The Raven’ in some instances.
The mosquito resembling the raven or House’s problem.
It keeps on bugging him, consumes him eventually bites him- ‘quoth the raven; nevermore’
And for the last scene where everyone seems to make progress except House, it reminded me of the last verse of the poem;
And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming,
And the lamplight o’er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted – nevermore!
(which can be attributed to House’s unhinging throughout the season)
Just my two cent’s, why this unlikely episode should be nominated.
Amnesty International should note that action sounds louder than word! ,
I want to shoot myself in the face. ,
